uke 31,32
Things are slowing down after a very busy July. The course has held up against the traffic well. The biggest problems have been, as usual, ballmarks on greens and divots on fairways. Overall we are very pleased with conditions in July. Greens have been rolling true and we have kept the speed quite consistant throughout the summer. We have received some complaints about stones in bunkers and this will be taken further in the system so we can allocate funds to start renovating bunkers in the coming years, hopefully already this autumn. This week (31) will be a regular week as course prep goes. We are gearing up for our biggest maintenance projects of the year from next week.

uke 27
Regular maintenance this week. We are mowing greens 6 x weekly at 3.2 mm. Stimpmeter readings are consistantly between 9 and 10. Tees and fairways are mowed 2-3 x a week as time allows. We will also be working on a few small projects when we have spare time. These include tree removal and filling of the ditch on the right side of 10 green, cleaning up the area right of 15 red tee and fertilizing high traffic areas when rain is forecasted!
uke 26
We will be pinspiking and grooming greens monday. We will groom greens first which is a light combing to remove dead material and shear stolons for a tighter canopy. This followed by a pinspiking with 6 mm tines to open up the surface a little before summer heat sets in. Greens are then mowed as usual and sand dressed lightly a little later this week. There will be minimal disruption to the playing quality.

uke 24
We are finally seeing some good growth on our greens and expect the few areas of damage to be filled in nicely by early next week. This week we have given them a light grooming to thin out the canopy and to encourage lateral spreading. We also applied a granular fertilizer and have finally received some much needed rain. Greens were lightly dressed tuesday and will be mowed 6 days a week throughout the season now. Current height is 3.2 mm and stimpmeter readings will be between 9 and 10 through the summer.

uke 20/21
After some much needed rain we have been busy this week catching up on mowing. We have sprayed soluable calcium, silica and wetting agent on greens this week. They were also verticut Wednesday and we are now one step closer to summer mowing heights. We are currently at 3.5 mm and will be down to 3.2 mm by the end of week 21.

Most of the snow has melted now except for in some bunkers and on some of our shaded fairways. We are in the process of blowing and cleaning sticks and debris.
